Background

After 20 years in broadcasting, nineteen eighty four was an exceptional year for Sandy. It included meeting her husband, Stu Nahan, and a prestigious promotion to Manager of Programming at KNBC. While in that position, a union strike of camera operators thrust Sandy into the job of operating Camera 2, known as the close-up view, on psychiatrist Dr. David Viscott’s popular, groundbreaking show, "Getting In Touch With Dr. David Viscott". After continually hearing Dr. Viscott’s advice to viewers—"you can achieve your full potential"—Sandy was inspired to return to school, a life change culminating with her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology.
